SOUTH JORDAN — A mother and her 7-year-old son were attacked by two bulldogs Friday morning.
The 7-year-old was walking to school near 9900 South and 3105 West when two bulldogs started running after him, said South Jordan Police Sgt. Allen Crist.
The boy was scared and ran into the street where he tripped and the dogs jumped on him. The boy's mother heard the commotion and ran out of the house to help her son. She was subsequently bitten on the nose by one of the dogs, said Crist.
The boy suffered some bruising and bite marks on his legs. Both he and his mother were taken to Jordan Valley Hospital where they were treated and released.
The dogs will be quarantined for the next 10 days, said Crist. Neighbors said the dogs, ages 1 and 2, are very playful and likely thought the boy was playing, he said.
Nevertheless, the owner was cited for the attack and for not licensing his animals.
