Democracy doesn't work if you don't know how your elected representatives voted. That is the bottom line of the entire political system in the United States and Utah.
The Utah Legislature and its leadership has apparently omitted the listing of how their members voted on specific legislation on the Legislature Web site, nor have I found voting records in any other easily accessible forum. It's time for them to make it possible for the average citizen to make an honest determination of how they voted on issues that have critical impact upon their lives.
Is there a reason that this information is not readily available to the citizens of Utah? Unfortunately, Utah has a reputation for closed-door political activities that don't meet the standards for a free and democratic nation.
