LDS leader has minor surgery

President Gordon B. Hinckley of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has resumed his regular activities following a minor surgical procedure on Wednesday.

Church spokesman Dale Bills said that President Hinckley's plans to visit LDS Church members in South America and to dedicate the Montevideo Uruguay Temple in mid-March are unchanged.

Bills didn't discuss the nature of the same-day surgery but said it required only topical anesthetic.
