Obituary: Virginia Esperson Benson

Virginia Esperson Benson, age 91, passed away Friday March 2, 2001 in Murray, Utah.

She was born Nov 5, 1909 in Ephraim, UT to Carl F. and Olive Hughes Esperson. She married Glenn Ray Benson June 6, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was an active member of the LDS Church all her life. She was a gradu-ate of LDS High School and the Uni-versity of Utah. Virgin-ia taught school at Ephraim High School and The Hartvigsen School.

She lived in West Jordan nearly 40 years where she and Glenn worked side by side with their seven children on the family mink ranch. For the past 21 years Virginia has lived in the Little Cottonwood Stake.

She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved her family with all her heart and they loved her in return. She was a great example to them of thoughtfulness, kindness, and family unity. Her greatest joy in life was her family.

She is survived by her children, Annette (Bruce) Woolley, Bonnie Busco, both of Provo, Russell G. (Barbara), Mesa, AZ, Douglas C. (Susan), John F., Richard L. (Carol), Robert D. (Anne), all of SL Valley; 25 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Carol Stoker, Clearfield, Bonnie (Clayton) Lamoreaux, Vancouver, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Ray Benson; a brother, Clinton Esperson; and granddaughter, Melissa Anne Benson.

Services will be Thurs. March 8, 11 a.m. at the Little Cottonwood LDS 16th Ward chapel, 6350 S. Rodeo Lane (1545 E). Friends may call Wed. 6-8 p.m. at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State St. and Thurs. one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Midvale City Cemetery.
