Scrapbook magazine purchased

Creating Keepsakes, a Salt Lake-based multimedia company that publishes what is said to be the nation's largest circulation scrapbook magazine, has been acquired by Primedia Inc.'s Enthusiast Magazines division.

Terms of the deal were not announced.

Primedia, a company with $1.7 billion in annual sales, publishes 220 magazines and operates more than 1,000 Internet sites. The Enthusiast Magazine unit includes crafts, sewing and quilting publications.

Dave O'Neil, vice president of Primedia's Quilting, Sewing, Crafts and Scrapbooking Group, said Creating Keepsakes will remain based in Salt Lake City along with its management team of Lisa Bearnson, editorial co-founder; Don Lambson, co-founder and creative director; Mark Seastrand, publisher; and Valerie Dellastatious, director of marketing.

Bearnson also will continue to host "Creating Keepsakes Hour" on television channel QVC.
