Grizzlies visit red-hot Bears

ORLANDO — The Utah Grizzlies, in the midst of a heated playoff race in the IHL's Western Conference, will have a hard time picking up any points in the standings the next couple of days.

They begin a two-games-in-two-days series with the Orlando Solar Bears tonight at 5 MST (1230-AM) at the O-rena. Coming into this week, Orlando had gone unbeaten in 14 straight games before dropping a couple in a row to move to 38-19-5 (81 points) for second-place in the East.

Utah has lost three consecutive road games, falling back to the .500 mark again at 30-30-5 (65 points). With 17 games remaining, the Grizz are now only two points ahead of Chicago and three in front of Kansas City for third place in the West.

The Grizz hold a 2-1-0 advantage in the season series with the Solar Bears. Gavin Morgan and Jamie Wright have both scored a goal, dished out two assists and posted +3 ratings against Orlando.
