M.M. Griffin, age 79, passed away March 7, 2001 in Salt Lake City. Born October 23, 1921 in Salt Lake to Clyde M. Griffin and Vera Maxfield Griffin Blair. Married Fay Mace on December 7, 1945.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Aleutians. He loved fishing, hunting and working in his shop. He worked for the Deseret Press for many years until he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Fay, of Salt Lake City; sons and daughter, Mrs. Curtis (Debbie) Steele and Lee M. Griffin, both of West Valley City, Max (Sharron) Griffin of Salt Lake City; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister, Mrs. Bernie (Thalia) Schmertz, of Ivins, Utah.
A memorial service will be held at his favorite fishing hole this summer.
