On March 23, 2001 Raymond B. Carter passed away quietly of natural causes incidental to old age.

He was born Jan 14, 1912 to William Carter and Fanny Christina Zundell in Payson, UT.

Upon completion of the ninth grade of school he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps where in 1927 he was awarded a Purple Heart for a bullet wound in his leg. He served in the Pacific Campaign in World War II and was Hon-orably Discharged. He later re-enlisted to serve another four years in the Merchant Marine Service.

Raymond settled in Bingham Canyon, UT where he met and married Donna Violet Timothy. They had two sons, Michael T. Carter, Olympia, WA and Donald B. Carter, Holladay, UT. He had eight grandchildren.

Raymond retired after forty years with Kennecott Copper Corporation where he was a drilling and blasting foreman. His hobbies included gardening and coin collecting.

Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Violet, in 1999.

Graveside services will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery/Mortuary, 10600 S. 1700 E. in Sandy, UT Tues. April 3, 2001 at 11 a.m., where friends may gather one hour prior to services. Family suggests donations to Disabled American Veterans in lieu of flowers.
