Karen Bardwell Cook, 43, died March 31, 2001, in West Jordan, Utah.
Born Feb 10, 1958, in San Luis Obispo, CA to Robert Elmer Bardwell and Lula
Pattison. Married Ralph Vardis Cook May 28, 1988, in Sandy, UT. Karen was the kind of person who took what life handed her and made the best of it. Her greatest accom-plishment and the source of her great-est joy was the birth of her two sons, Kyle Curtis Cook, 8, and James Ryan Cook, 2 1/2. She said many times, "I never knew I could love so much."
Karen passed after a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer. Her love of her children and her desire to raise them made giving up unacceptable. However, her strong belief in Christ and the knowledge of His infinite wisdom helped her to accept that her time on earth was finished. She died peacefully at home under the care of family and the hospice nurses who had become her friends. In lieu of flowers, Karen asked that donations be made to IHC Hospice.
Karen is survived by her husband; two sons; parents; stepmother, Luvina Jane Meyer; and siblings, Tony Bardwell, Lorena Zumwalt, Robert Bardwell, BJ Knight, Milena Degn, Kathy Hosenfeld, Greg Meyer.
Services will be Tues. April 3, 2001, 11 a.m., at the Copper Hills LDS 5th Ward chapel, 8176 S. 5140 W, where friends may visit Mon. 6-8 p.m. and Tues. one hour prior to services. Interment, Larkin Sunset Gardens.
