WASHINGTON (Reuters) — Cosco, a unit of Dorel Industries Inc., is voluntarily recalling about 171,000 "Bungee Baby Jumpers" because they may pose a safety risk, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced Friday.

The Bungee Baby Jumper allows a baby to bounce in a seat attached to an elastic "bungee cord" suspended from a doorway. Metal clasps can detach from the bungee cord, causing the jumper to fall to the floor along with the baby, the consumer watchdog agency said.

Cosco Inc., of Columbus, Ind., said it had received 82 reports of the bungee jumper falling to the floor and that 15 babies were injured.
