The principle of accountability applies to spiritual resources as well as physical resources with which individuals are blessed. In an era when most people have longer lives and more timesaving devices, they are accountable for the use of that time.

The plethora of information at immediate call may result in increased knowledge and less focus. There is little purpose in unfocused pursuit of available information.

"We . . . need quiet time and prayerful pondering as we seek to develop information into knowledge and mature knowledge into wisdom."

Avoiding what is harmful is crucial. "The abundant information and images accessible on the Internet call for sharp focus and control to avoid accessing the pornography that is an increasing scourge in our society . . . . The Internet has also facilitated the predatory activities of adults who use its anonymity and accessibility to stalk children for evil purposes. "Parents and youth, beware."

Church teachers may be tempted to "unload bales of information" that actually "detract from our attempt to teach gospel principles with clarity and testimony . . . . Each of us should be careful that the current flood of information does not occupy our time so completely that we cannot focus on and hear and heed the still small voice that is available to guide each of us with our own challenges today."
