John Mecham Dodge Chrysler Jeep announced two promotions. Ray Gunn, a 22-year veteran of the automotive industry, was promoted to general sales manager for the Salt Lake John Mecham car dealerships. Craig Blackson will serve as the general manager for the new John Mecham dealership in Summit County. Blackson has 20 years of experience in the industry.

Gregg Riker has been promoted to senior project manager by Utah construction firm Sahara Inc. Riker has been with Sahara since 1993 and has supervised projects including the Central Utah Correctional Facility, Beaver County Public Safety Facility and several automotive dealerships in Utah, Colorado and Arizona.

The Salt Lake City Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco has appointed three new directors. Peggy A. Stock is the president of Westminster College. Gary L. Crocker serves as chairman of the board of ARUP Laboratories in Salt Lake City and president of Crocker Ventures in Park City. He also was one of the founding members of Theratech Inc., a Salt Lake-based biotechnology firm. William C. Glynn serves as president of Intermountain Industries Inc. in Boise.

Matthew O. Marshall has joined the engineering firm of Van Boerum & Frank Associates as a project engineer in the mechanical division. VBFA is a Salt Lake-based mechanical, civil and geotechnical engineering firm.

The Utah State Bar awarded Hon. Tyrone E. Medley the Raymond S. Uno Award for the Advancement of Minorities in the Legal Profession. Medley serves on the 3rd Judicial District Court. When he was appointed to the bench in 1994, Medley became the first African-American judge in Utah's history. Laura Milliken Gray received the Dorothy Merrill Brothers Award for the Advancement of Women in the Legal Profession. Gray has served as chairwoman of the Utah State Bar Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.

Maxine Turner, president of Cuisine Unlimited, has been invited to serve on the National Caterers Association President's Council, the advisory arm to the board of directors of the association. She is nationally the first woman to be invited to serve on this council.

Dallas Todd and Kathy Dunks have joined the Salt Lake office of Carter & Burgess Inc., a national multi-discipline engineering firm. Todd is a senior transportation engineer with 10 years of experience in traffic planning and design. Dunks is a project engineer with eight years of experience in civil, environmental and project engineering.

Nicole M. DeForge has joined the law firm of Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy as a member of its business section. DeForge will focus her practice in the area of intellectual property rights.

Penna Powers Cutting & Haynes, a local advertising and public relations agency, announced the promotions of Stephanie Sittle-Coleman and David Smith. Sittle-Coleman was promoted to vice president of media, after working as media director for the past six years. Smith will serve as vice president of public relations. He previously was director of public relations.

Alta Therapies/Click4Staff.com has named Mark R. Bitton as area manager of the Farmington-based rehabilitation/staffing firm. Britton, a license physical therapist, will manage all aspects of daily therapy operations and assist in developing new business.

Mark Mismash has joined Thomas Peterson Hammond Architects, a full-service architectural design firm in Salt Lake City. Mismash has assisted on a number of projects, including the Philadelphia Phillies Baseball Stadium.

Verticore Technologies, a Salt Lake-based software firm, has named Jake Shaffer as its director of client satisfaction and support. Shaffer has more than 20 years of experience in the field and holds a master's degree in business administration from York College of Pennsylvania.

Tanner Spencer Group, an advertising, marketing and public relations agency, announced that senior partner Kirk Tanner has been selected as a member of the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications. As a member of the council, Tanner will work with universities and colleges nationwide to determine whether their programs are in compliance with the council's standards.

Specialized Health Products International has elected Donald Solomon to its board of directors. In addition, Solomon was promoted to chief operating officer of the company. Solomon joined SHPI last year.
