"I believe that you young men of the priesthood and the young women of your age are in many ways the most promising generation in the history of the world."
To achieve your potential, you need to honor four sacred principles: reverence for deity; respect and honor for family relationships; reverence for and obedience to the ordinances and covenants of the holy priesthood; and respect for yourself as a son of God.
In reverence for the sacred is a love and respect for deity. We should love the Lord above bank accounts, automobiles, fine clothing or any other possession.
Respect and honor for family relationships should begin with reverence for a mother's sacred love. My mother has now been dead for many years. I miss her loving influence. I miss her unconditional love. In companionship with his wife, a father should be the source of stability and strength.
Respect for and obedience to the ordinances and covenants of the priesthood means we honor the Lord by keeping our baptismal covenants, our sacrament covenants, our temple covenants and by keeping the Sabbath day holy.
Respect yourself as as son of God. If we are constantly aware of the "seeds of divinity" within us, it will help us rise above earthly challenges and difficulties.
"May we be worthy of the Lord's promise; 'Them that honour me, I will honour.' "
