Ten Utah students split $10,000 and were honored at Friday's Utah Jazz game for their commitment to disadvantaged and minority communities.

The honorees were selected winners of the "Teachers for All" scholarships, sponsored by the Utah Jazz and the Utah Education Association's Children At Risk Foundation. They will receive another $500 from Utah doctors Agi and Henry Plenk when they receive their teaching credentials.

The scholarships are intended to lure to teaching ranks people with skills and experiences to serve Utah's increasingly diverse students. Applicants must want to become teachers and either speak a foreign language or have worked with minority communities.
