OLIVEHURST, Calif. (AP) — A train slammed into a car that had driven around lowered railroad crossing gates, killing three people in the vehicle, police said.

The Union Pacific train, hauling tractor-trailer boxes and storage trailers, was traveling about 70 mph when the accident occurred Sunday.

The train ripped the Honda in half. The car's three occupants were ejected.
