If you think there's something different about the Deseret News you're holding, you're right.

The Deseret News — along with virtually every other daily newspaper in the country — will soon be printed on narrower paper, a move intended to reduce newsprint usage. But the conversion, given the sophistication of today's newspaper presses, will take about a month. The first step, obviously, was to reduce the size of the printed page, which we've done. But we're still printing on wider paper. Hence you're seeing a little large margin.

As the changeover continues, you'll see a mixture of paper widths, while current newsprint inventories are being phased out.

While the Deseret News is physically smaller, we think you'll notice little, if any, change in content.
