It is the best mark in the outdoor collegiate ranks this season and automatically qualifies him for the 2001 NCAA Div. I Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, May 31-June 2 in Eugene, Ore.

The 7-6 leap is the second best mark in Big Sky history behind his own conference and school record of 7-7.

Clinger also had a long-jump mark of 22-6 in the meet.

PRINCE SIGNS WITH JAGS: Weber State tight end Ryan Prince (6-5, 255 / Farmington — Davis HS) has signed as a free agent with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Prince earned First Team All-American honors in 2000 and First Team All-Big Sky Conference honors. He had 49 catches for 602 yards and 6 touchdowns last fall and ended his four years at Weber State with 91 receptions for 1,256 yards and 7 TDs. He was selected and played in this year's East-West Shrine All-Star game.
