Dad Has Finished
Their Cabin <! >
Mom was born to Darrel and Lela Childs in Centerfield (Sanpete County), Utah. She married our Dad, DeRay G. Bird on June 3, 1940 and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on April 23, 1968.
Heavenly Father blessed our mother with a special gift for sewing and she worked for 30 years as a professional seamstress. Because of her marvelous talent, Osborn Apparel Sewing Company encouraged Mom to develop an industrial sewing class. She taught sewing for ten years at the technical college and inspired hundreds of students during that time. Mom was commissioned to design and create special clothing for the mother of Governor Cal Rampton and she especially loved sewing customer wedding dresses.
Mom and Dad enjoyed traveling in their motor home and the opportunity that provided them for hunting, fishing and camping. When dad left this early life four years ago, he went to prepare a place for mom. Now that Heavenly Father has called mom home, we know that means dad has finally completed their eternal cabin.
Mom leaves behind three daughters: Mary Lou (Helge) Walther, Pamela (Harry) Kom, Raliene (Jim) Allen; four grandchildren: Judy Koeller, Jody, J.D. (Christina) Allen, and Cody Kom; eight great-grandchildren: Nicole, Candice and Michael Koeller; Adam, Mariah, Matthew, Mandy and Isaac Boyd-Allen; sister: Nelda Petersen and brother: Wayne (Janette) Childs. Pre-ceding her in death: father, mother, brother, her loving husband, baby daughter LaPreal, baby son Raymond and baby granddaughter Marcia Walther. Just think of the grand reunion Mom is having in Heaven.
Her daughters would like to thank Dr. Philip Roberts, his staff and all the wonderful people from the Hospice Foundation. They helped make Mom's last days peaceful.
"Grieving is the price we pay for Love." See ya Mom!
