The city of Orem needs volunteers to revitalize the community during the annual Orem Blitz on May 7-12.

The Orem Blitz is an intensive community and neighborhood renovation project.

On Saturday, May 12, the main Blitz day, volunteers will meet at Orem Junior High School, 765 N. 600 West, at 7:30 a.m. They will work until noon on various projects, including painting homes, replacing street signs and disposing of waste.

The work will be done in the Geneva neighborhood, from State Street to 1200 West and from 400 North to 800 North.

To register as a volunteer for the Blitz, contact Chris Boyadjian, Orem City Community Development specialist, at 229-7099.

Other volunteer opportunities in Utah County include the following:

Volunteers will be on call one week of the month from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. Certified instructors are also needed to teach courses in first aid and CPR, lifeguarding and sports safety.

Beautify Provo Cemetery. Provo City has an urgent need for volunteers to help rake leaves on 45 acres of the cemetery in preparation for Memorial Day.
