I'm dissatisfied with the inappropriate language and content aired on local television channels.
I'm a student attending Olympus High School and longtime viewer of Channel One, a news broadcast for students across the United States. I was reminded of a topic about television informing that we, as U.S. citizens, own the standard television waves.
We allow companies to air over them under the condition that the companies provide a service to the community; this is why many channels air a news broadcast. I don't believe this news broadcast service outweighs the low moral standards the citizens (and owners) receive constantly.
I cringe at the foul language and suggestive scenes emitted from the most influential role models of our society. I believe the channel stations are not benefiting the community and are breaking the agreement allowing them to broadcast on our waves. I feel cheated paying taxes to provide them with our television waves only to be offended by the content output.
I suggest that the Utah's television stations censor the shows aired (by simple means) to conform with the high standards of the majority of Utah's citizens, in order to uphold their beneficial responsibilities.
