Obituary: Eunice Sena Mortenson Alder

Eunice Sena Mortenson Alder died Saturday May 19, 2001 in Orem, UT.

She was born on September 3, 1911, in Ephraim to Peter and Anna Mena Christensen Mortenson. The youngest of eight children. She married Ernest Ivan Alder June 5, 1935 in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death.

Eunice was a graduate of Snow High School and held a bachelors degree in Home Economics from Brigham Young University. A retired school teacher from Manti High School she will be remembered by her peers and students as an excellent teacher and mentor. Her proudest accomplishment was her two sons and her five grandchildren.

An active member of the LDS Church, Eunice served in the Jr. Sunday School, Primary and Relief Society. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and neighbor. Her faith, kindness and love will serve as a beacon to her family.

Surviving her are her two sons, Ivan Kent Alder (Aleene), Provo, Charles M Alder (Theressa), Ephraim and five grandchildren, Dr. Mark Alder, Debra Nielson, Todd Alder, Tiffany Tree and Tyler Alder and 11 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Ivan, four brothers Valton,

Rulon, Varian and Francis and three sisters Alta, Delma and Clairis.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, May 24, 2001, in the Ephraim Fifth Ward Church, 10 South Main Street, Ephrairn, UT. Visitation will be from 10:30 am - 11:30 am prior to service. Internment will be in the Ephraim City Cemetery under the direction of Buchanan Mortuary.
