Alvin Shupe passed away peacefully, May 4, 200, at the Willow Wood Care Cen-ter in Salt Lake City, Utah at 8:10 p.m. Alvin had suffered from poor health the past year including diabetes, pneumonia and renal failure.
He was born July 2, 1927 in Salt Lake City, UT to Walter Ken-drick Shupe and Irene Lucy Walker. Alvin was a developmentally disabled adult due to traumatic childbirth injuries. He gained personal accomplishments through the American Fork Training School where he worked for local farmers. He also worked for a local motel in the linen room and at the Murray Deseret Industries. Alvin enjoyed traveling about Salt Lake on his bike, which he kept in good repair. He also learned to travel by bus throughout the city.
He is survived by his brother, Harry Walter Shupe; and sisters, Lois Fleming, Arlene (Phill) Legg, Delone Shupe. Preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Glen and Donald.
