Nelly Stahl Groeschke, age 90, passed away June 27, 2001 in Salt Lake City, UT.

She was born Jan. 10, 1911 in Pforzheim, Germany, the daughter of Emil Eugen and Emilie Auguste Labbe Stahl. Educated in Germany. Immigrated to the United States with her mother in July 1951, making Salt Lake City her home. She was active in the LDS Church and held many church positions. After World War II she served a church mission in Frankfurt, Germany. Married Kurt Groeschke in the Salt Lake Temple in June 1960. He died in 1967. Nelly was employed by the O.C. Tanner Co. for many years. Enjoyed tap dancing, and making and professionally dressing prize-winning dolls.

She is survived by her devoted sister, Margarete Stahl Wilkin Hicken of Salt Lake City; cousins: Manfred (Ilse) Ecker, Pforzheim, Germany; Gunter (Gisela) Ecker, Karlsruhe, Germany; Herman (Ingrid) Labbe, Nurnberg, Germany; and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, July 2nd, at 12 noon at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, where friends may call from 10:45-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
