LOS ANGELES — Shots were fired into a chartered bus early Monday, killing one person and injuring three others.

The shots apparently were fired by someone in a car shortly after the private bus left the Century Club nightclub, police said. The victims had been involved in a fight at the nightclub, but it was unclear whether the shooting was related to the fight, police said.

Police said there were no suspects and the attack apparently did not target anyone.

"There were many, many people on the bus," said Detective Ron Phillips. "It was just a random drive-by shooting, I don't think they had anybody in particular. It was just unfortunate."

Schmidt said that after the shooting, the people on the bus drove around looking for an emergency room.
