Irving Palmer Dechter passed away peacefully July 9, 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

He was born December 4, 1917 in Chelsea, Massachusetts to Samuel and Sophie Gammer Dechter. He married Donna Rae Ungricht in 1944 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Jordan River Temple.

He was a veteran of World War II and later graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in accounting.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many capacities. He loved hunting, camping, and fishing. He was a very loving, devoted husband, father and will be missed by all those who loved him.

He is survived by his wife, one son Steven Dechter (Alice) Salt Lake City, two daughters Lynnette Turcsanski (James) Salt Lake City; Marsha Whitehead (Ken) Sandy. Eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents, two sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 12 noon in the

Wasatch Lawn Mortuary chapel, 3401 S Highland Dr. Friends may call from 10:30-11:45 a.m. at the mortuary prior to services. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
