Leonard Brand, our beloved brother, uncle and friend passed away July 9, 2001. He was born in Dordrecht, Holland on Oct. 28, 1917. He came to America and Salt Lake City with his father, mother and two brothers in Nov. 1923. He attended local schools, graduating from South High School. Leonard served his country during World War II serving in the Army Medical Corps. He was employed by U.S. Rockwool as plant foreman in Pocatello, Idaho and later in Salt Lake City until he retired. Member of the LDS Church.

He married Marion Johnson in August 1965. They enjoyed many happy years together. They enjoyed traveling, bowling and golf together. He was an avid reader. Leonard was loved by all that knew him. His family and friends will miss him deeply but will cherish his friendship and the example he set.

Leonard is survived by his family, stepsons, Larry (Sharon) Johnson, Rodney (Susan) Johnson, brother Hugh C. (Beth) Brand, sisters Gladys Brand, Joyce (Gailard) Barker, sister-in-law, Darlene (John) Brand; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by father and mother, brother John, and wife Marion.

Funeral services will be held Thursday July 12, 2001 at 10 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary 3401 So. Highland Dr. Friends may call Wednesday July 11, from 6-8 p.m. at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
