Ruling is victory for wilds

SHARE Ruling is victory for wilds

I am writing to express my support for the recent landmark U.S. District Court victory in which a ruling was made in favor of the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance and the Sierra Club in their suit against three Utah counties for illegally blading roads in the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.

This is a victory that will help this nation to preserve the few remaining wild, pristine, roadless areas on our public lands. No more logging, no more mining and oil and gas drilling and no more roads or ORV trails.

It's time we drew a line in the sand and said enough is enough! These areas should be protected completely and preserved in their natural state as wilderness.

For too long our public lands have been managed for the betterment of the corporate balance sheet and not for the betterment of the American public. Today Americans are demanding that these lands be preserved in their natural state, for the betterment of wilderness, wildlife, and future generations.

It's about time that these ridiculous IRS 2477 rights-of-way claims/issues be buried for good. This decision puts another well-deserved nail in their coffin.
