LOS ANGELES — "The Sopranos" received a leading 22 Emmy nominations Thursday, the most ever in the three seasons of the cable hit about the angst-filled life of a suburban mob family.

The show's chief competition again will be NBC's White House series, "The West Wing," which received 18 nominations and last year picked up the best drama trophy among its record nine honors.

For the first time, reality programs were eligible for recognition, with nominations going to CBS's "Survivor" and Fox's "American High."

Here's a list of nominees in major Emmy categories, announced Thursday by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences:

Drama Series: "ER," NBC; "Law & Order," NBC; "The Practice," ABC; "The Sopranos," HBO; "The West Wing," NBC.
