Frances Odelia (Herrera) Wall, age 88, passed away July 10, 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born December 23, 1913 in Monticello, New Mexico to Patricio Canul and Beatrice Tafoya Herrera.

Married Arthur Everett Wall, Jr. from Lynn, MA. He preceded her in death on August 13, 1972. Frances was a member of the Catholic Church and a resident of Saint Joseph's Villa in Salt Lake City. Raised as the third member of a family of thirteen children, Frances spent her early childhood with family in the small farming towns of New Mexico. She helped her Grandfather Leandro Tafoya on his farm in Monticello and learned to cook working along side Aunt Eloisa. As a young woman she moved with three of her sisters to the Bay area of No. Calif. During World War II, while working at the Army arsenal in Stockton, CA, she met and married Art Wall. They had three sons, Richard, John and Gary. The family moved to Tooele, Utah in 1963. Although her formal education was limited, Frances spent many years working as a Special Needs Teacher for the Tooele School District. Frances was a faithful wife and mother and a devoted sister. She excelled in all aspects of homemaking, using her skills to stitch fine clothing and cook delightful meals. She had a great sense of humor and gentle manner. She loved to shop and travel and share in family moments. She was a supportive mother and grandmother. Cautious, frugal and patient, she knew the value of hard work and understood hard times. She suffered through years of illness, showing an incredible stamina and capacity for pain. Her will to live and endure is a legacy that her family will cherish.

She is survived by her sons and their families: Richard (Connie), West Jordan; John "Jack" (Chris), Tracy, CA; Gary (Julia), Murray; and Pam Wall, St. George. She leaves grandchildren; Derrick, Kyle, Jacklynn and Margaret Frances "Maggie", along with Burrup grandchildren; Joel (Brenda), Josh

(Ileana), Jaymie (Don), Jennifer, Jesse and great-granddaughter Serenity Jo. Her brother Pat (Alice), CA; sisters Dolores, FL. and Phyllis (Al), CA and numerous nephews and nieces will also mourn her passing.
