Garth B. Jolley, 71, of Orem, Utah, passed away July 10, 2001, at the Timpanogos Reg-ional Hospital.
He was born March 22, 1930, in Leeds, Utah to Ammon and Izabelle Stirling Jolley. He married Paulina Christian on May 29, 1951. Their marriage was later solemnized in the LDS Temple on March 18, 1961. Garth attended Dixie High School, Utah Technical College and the University of Utah. He worked for the Utah Department of Public Safety for 35 years. He was an avid golfer, he loved work in his garden, go camping and read. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions such as Member of High Priest group, Young Men's presidency, Bishops Executive Secretary and a Home Teacher.
He is survived by his wife, Paulina, three sons, Keith R. (Lonnie) Jolley, Mountain View, Wyoming; Bruce K. (Nancy) Jolley, McLean, Virginia; Ray G. (Judi) Jolley, Santa Clara, Utah; 15 grandchildren, one great grandchild, one brother and three sisters, Gwen Kite, Merle Sulser, Lena Mayo, Doyle Jolley. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Lloyd, Vernon, Guy and Keith.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 13, 2001, at 11 a.m. in the Sharon First Ward Chapel, 641 South 400 East, Orem, Utah. Friends may call Thursday evening at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home, 646 East 800 North, Orem, from 7-9 p.m. and at the Chapel on Friday morning from 9:45-10:45 a.m. prior to service.
