The federal government announced Thursday it has given Questar Corp. the go-ahead to build a natural gas pipeline from Price to Elberta.
The U.S. Department of the Interior has granted Questar a 77-mile right-of-way for the pipeline. And the U.S. Department of Agriculture amended resource plans for the Manti-La Sal and Uinta National Forest to accommodate the project.
The pipeline will send natural gas from Price to Salt Lake City. Any fuel not used by residents on the Wasatch Front will be passed on to other Western states by the Kern River pipeline Questar plans to build to California.
