A taxi driver accused of fondling a passenger has been charged with forcible sexual abuse.

According to charges filed in 3rd District Court Friday, the driver gave a woman a ride in his taxi between her hotel on 6600 South to a store on 7200 South. After the trip, the driver said she did not have to pay for the ride, and followed her to her room, offering help with her purchases.

He then put his hands under her clothes, fondled her and kissed her without her consent, according to charges.

The 37-year-old man has been charged with forcible sexual abuse, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
