BEAVER, UTAH - <! > Herbert A. Meek died Friday, July 13, 2001 at his home in

Beaver. He could wait no longer to be with Mom, his best friend of 54 years. He missed her everyday since her death in Nov. 17, 1998.

"Pop", to all who knew him, was born Sept. 25, 1918 in Grenola. Kansas. The fifth of eight children born to Elmer Leonard and Clydia McCulley Meek. He spent his childhood growing up in Grenola. As a teen he worked on his uncle's ranch near Gooding Idaho. He was a World War II Veteran, serving his country for five years and honorably discharged in 1945, even bringing home a few medals. On March 16, 1947 he married Bernice Gray Holtzman and took on the job of raising those three red head boys, Donald, James and Robert. Pop loved his boys and was very proud of them. He was always there whenever needed. Pop was an excellent carpenter. He helped build bridges and buildings all over the country. But, he was most proud of the homes he built for Mom and the boys and swings and

playhouses for the grandkids. He was a kind and generous person. Many times Pop and Mom opened their door to friend, and family in need. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bernice, and son Don. He leaves behind sons, Jim Meek, La Puente, Ca. and Bob Meek, Beaver, Ut., along with eleven grandchildren and 13 great-grand children, who will always remember. "Pop".
