Afterthoughts

Trent Lott seems to have come up with a way to reduce the size of government: Get rid of the congressmen who are guilty of infidelity. That would leave Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond, and I'm not too sure about Strom.

Perhaps I exaggerate. I believe Lott's Law would only apply to Democrats who sneak around and not to Republicans who haven't been caught.

Because of Gary Condit, the Democrats are badly in need of an unfaithful Republican to make it a level cheating-field. It would help if Newt Gingrich came out of retirement and ran for something.

To Senator Lott, the issue is morality — the sanctity of marriage in the home and the Republican majority in the House.
