SHARE Fruit stands open in Box Elder

Fruit season has arrived.

Many of the fruit stands are opening along Box Elder County's Famous Fruitway, according to the Utah State University Extension Service.

Cherries began ripening last week and should be available now. Apricots will follow, coming into ripeness next week.

Fruit and vegetable availability is expected as follows:

July 2 — Sweet cherries, raspberries and apricots; beets and zucchini.

July 10 — Tart (pie) cherries, cabbage, summer squash.

July 20 — Sweet corn, cucumbers, blackberries.

July 24 — Peaches, cantaloupe, summer apples, new red potatoes.

Aug. 1 — Snap peas.

Aug. 7 — Plums.

Aug. 15 — Tomatoes, watermelon, peppers, eggplant.

Aug. 20 — Onions, red potatoes, summer apples.
