Erma Jane Wilcox Peterson, 79, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2001 at her home.

She was born November 20, 1921 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, to Guy and Leurilla Wheeler Wilcox. She married Harold "Hal" S. Peterson on October 27, 1938 in the Cardston, Alberta LDS Temple.

One of many things family and friends will remember about Erma was the wonderful candy she would make for them. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and sewing for her family.

She was a member of the Ogden 29th Ward where she was active in many positions including Relief Society President and Young Womens' President. She was also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.

Surviving are her husband, Hal Peterson, Ogden; children, Gail (Duane) Watson, Heber City, UT; Vickie (Randy) Smith, Ogden, UT; Brenda (Bob) Huish, Bountiful, UT; Phyllis (Craig) Huss, Littleton, CO; Mark (Debbie) Peterson, Plain City, UT; 26 grandchildren; 38 great-grand children; and three great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Merl DuVall; and two brothers, Bert (Connie) Wilcox; and Glen (Lorraine) Wilcox. She was preceded in death by a sister; and a granddaughter, Shelly Shipman.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 23, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the Ogden 29th Ward Chapel, 236 Porter Avenue.

Friends may call on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., and on Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment, Huntsville City Cemetery.
