Loving sister, aunt and friend, Dorothy Jean Lane, 79, passed away peacefully at her home in Murray on July 18, 2001.
Born June 20, 1922 in Winslow, AZ to Ralph Elijah and Lena Frost Lane. She was an executive secretary at Bank of America Headquarters in San Francisco for 48 years. Upon her retirement she moved to Salt Lake City. She enjoyed being with family and friends, traveling and being a volunteer at St. Mark's Hospital.
Dorothy exemplified true Christ-like love to all with her material means as well as offering the right word or performing the appropriate deed to lift another.
Cancer silently ravaged her body, but did not invade her soul.
Survived by brother William A. Lane (Castro Valley, CA), sisters Pat (Bob) Powell (of Salt Lake City, UT currently serving an LDS mission in Oakland, California), Joyce (John) Oscarson (Pleasant Grove, UT), 11 nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
Over 80 family and friends shared written memories with Dorothy. She was able to enjoy these testimonials and tributes before passing away. Therefore, according to her wishes, a family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Dorothy would appreciate a donation to University of Utah, Body Donor Program, Department of Neurobiology and Anatomy, 50 N. Medical Dr., Salt Lake City, UT 84132 or a charity of your choice.
