SALINA, Sevier County — Investigators are hoping a report from the State Medical Examiner's Office will reveal the identity of a body found just outside the city park Friday.

The severely decomposed body was discovered at 8 p.m. in a wooded area and was sent to the Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy, according to a news release from the Sevier County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff's investigators believe there is a strong possibility the body is that of a person who has been missing since May, the release stated.
