WASHINGTON — Returning to the lineup after missing three games with a broken right foot, Chamique Holdsclaw scored 19 points as the Washington Mystics ended a five-game losing streak with a 69-61 victory over the Indiana Fever on Sunday.

Annie Burgess' layup 1:22 into the second half started a 14-0 run that erased a 34-33 Indiana lead. Burgess scored six of her nine points during the run as Washington exploited seven turnovers by the Fever in the opening five minutes of the half.

Nadine Malcolm scored 14 points and Rita Williams 10 for Indiana, which has lost four straight road games.

Nikki McCray added 15 points for the Mystics

Holdsclaw's 12 first-half points helped Washington to a 33-29 halftime lead.

Niele Ivy's 3-pointer with 11:05 remaining in the first half capped an 8-0 Fever run that gave Indiana an early 16-8 lead. But Holdsclaw tallied six points as the Mystics responded with a 9-0 burst, taking a 17-16 lead on Holdsclaw's basket off a fast-break pass from Burgess.

SOL 68, LIBERTY 52: At New York, Sheri Sam scored 17 points as Miami won a franchise-high seventh straight game and snapped New York's seven-game home winning streak.

Debbie Black and Ruth Riley had 14 points apiece for the Sol (13-9). Elena Baranova added 12 points and six rebounds for the Sol.

Crystal Robinson had 15 points for the Liberty (16-7). Tari Phillips and Vickie Johnson each scored 12 points.
