LEVAN - Ray Edward Winter, age 81, passed away July 18, 2001 at his home in Levan, Utah.

He was born Jan 23, 1920 in Levan, UT to Peter Christian and Marnie Crystal Jennings Winter. He married Mary Jane Jensen Dec 6, 1939 in the Manti LDS Temple. She died Jan 24, 1992. Ray married Nola Peterson Nov 6, 1994.

Ray was a farmer for many years. He also worked and retired from Nephi Rubber. Dad worked hard his whole life to provide for his family. He was a member of the LDS Church and held the office of high priest at the time of his death. Dad loved the yearly camps with the whole family and was proud to be the head of our family. He loved to hunt and fish, and was always a great outdoorsman. He was campground host at Payson Lakes for many years and loved it dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Nola, Levan; daughter, Bonnie (Larry) Nielsen, Riverton; sons, Bruce (Janice) Winter, Riverton, Craig (Cindee) Winter, West Jordan; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Anderson, Levan; and sister-in-law, Faye Winter, Kaysville. Preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Lamar Winter.

Services will be 11 a.m. Wed. July 25, 2001 in the Levan LDS Chapel, 25 N. 100 E. Friends may call Tues. 6-8 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home, 94 W. 300 N, Nephi, and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial, Levan Cemetery.
