Publicists for Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston denied a German magazine's report on Monday that the actors are expecting a baby, and the report's writer blamed mistranslation.

"No. 1 is already on the way," the German edition of Marie Claire quoted Pitt as saying. "Now we're just hoping that everything goes well."

Cindy Guagenti, a publicist for Pitt, said the story was wrong and that she had requested a retraction from the magazine. Steven Huvane, publicist for Aniston, also denied the actress was pregnant and said he was seeking an explanation from Marie Claire.

Calls to the magazine's office in Munich, Germany, on Monday night went unanswered.

The writer of the magazine story, Elisa Leonelli, told the Associated Press in a telephone interview that her story was mistranslated.

Leonelli said she asked Pitt: "When do you think you'll start having children?"

"Whenever it's right, I think we'll feel it," Leonelli said Pitt told her.
