FISH HAVEN, Idaho (AP) — Some raspberry growers estimate they lost more than half of their crop after low temperatures damaged their fields over the weekend.
"It just mainly froze. It was down in the low 20s most of the day and all the night," said Ted Hildt, who raises about 20 acres of raspberries. "It's as bad as I've ever seen it. There's not going to be a lot of fruit this year. Large sections were pretty well wiped out."
The raspberry frost follows another unseasonable frost that damaged hay and grain in eastern Idaho.
