Maryann Sperry, 48, died July 22, 2001, in Salt Lake City due to colon cancer.

Born June 20, 1953, in Salt Lake City to Leo L. and Virginia Killpack Sperry. At age 4 the family moved to Delta. Graduated from Delta High School 1971.Attended USU two years Worked at the U of U Hospital in medical records before moving on to a 22-year career with the Salt Lake City Police Department.

While with the SLCPD, earned the respect of many with her tenacious diligence in doing whatever was necessary to maintain and expedite the administration of records and communications for the police department.

Donated time and energy to the

Police Museum, Police Mutual Aid and Race-A-Cop program. Close circle of police department colleagues and friends were important in her life---a second family. Many hours beyond work socializing and donating time for worthy police department projects.

Adored her seven birds. Hobbies included arts and crafts, reading, gardening, movies and sports, especially as an avid Utah Jazz fan. Will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Survived by mother, Virginia Sperry, brother, Stephen (Connie) Sperry; nephews: Kirk Leo, Kene Alva and Kyle Stephen Sperry.

Services at Delta 3rd Ward Chapel, 197 South 300 West, Delta, Friday, July 27, 2001 11 a.m. Viewing At the Church 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. Burial Delta Cemetery under direction of Nickle Mortuary.
