RICHFIELD, UTAH <! > - Leora Charlesworth Allen, 79, of Richfield, Utah, died July 25, 2001 in Ephraim, Utah while living with her daughter June.
She was born Feb. 12, 1922 in Kanosh, Utah to Collins Rowe and
Josie Juanita Abraham Charles-worth. She was the third daughter of five. She grew up in Kanosh and attended schools in Kanosh and Fillmore.
Leora married Lloyd Raymond Allen on November 13, 1942 in Salt Lake City, the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple, June 8, 1945. He preceded her in death on October 17, 1978.
She lived most of her life in Kanosh. In 1967, the family moved to Richfield, Utah. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was very musically talented. She spent all of her life serving others.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities, including the presidencies of the Relief Society, Young Women's, and Primary.
Leora is survived by her children: L. Scott (Arlene) Allen of Lynndyl, Utah, Phyll R. Allen of Henderson, NV, Juanita June (Gary) Jorgensen of Ephriam, Samuel D. (DeeAnn) Allen of LaVerkin and Myron D Allen of Henderson, NV; also 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Dathel (Willard, deceased) Whitaker, Geraldine (Franklin) Kimball, both of Kanosh, Iris (Terrell) Bond of Meadow and many nieces and nephews. Those who precede her in death are her husband and sister, Carma and husband Ross Cutler, daughter-in-law, Linda Allen.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 30, 2001 at 12 Noon in the Richfield 4th LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Neal S.
Magleby & Sons Mortuary, Sunday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. and again at the Magleby Mortuary on Monday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
