Ella Rae Gailey Stoddard Tate, beloved mother, sister and friend passed away quietly Wednesday July 25, 2001 after a long struggle with illness.
Ella was born November 12, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Archie and Ella Mann Gailey. She was the ninth of eleven children. Ella married Morris Stoddard October 20, 1950, they had six children together. They were later divorced. She married Joseph Padia March 5, 1976, they were divorced. She married Roger Dean Tate October 21, 1977.
Ella wanted nothing more in life but to be a good mother, wife, and homemaker. She succeeded in these undertakings until medical problems rendered it impossible. She loved her children and grandchildren and longed for the opportunity to embrace and spoil them.
She was close to her family and loved the time she spent with them.
She loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served the Lord in many positions and was serving as secretary in the Relief Society when she died.
Ella is survived by her children Sheri (Burton) Alder, Wellsville, Utah; Earl Stoddard, Salt Lake City, Utah; Gaylene (Ronald) Hansen, Aurora, Colorado; Douglas (Jerie) Stoddard, Florence, South Carolina; Ann Atchley, Boutiful, Utah; and Midge Farnsworth, Farmington, Utah. She is survived by three brothers and sisters, Allen (Carmie) Gailey, Deone (Milton) Asay, and Floyd (Ercell) Gailey all of Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Bruce Gailey, Blaine Gailey, Maxine Gailey, Morris Gailey, Verma Gibson, Jay Gailey, Conrad Gailey.
Funeral services Saturday 11 a.m., July 28, 2001 at the Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary 4760 S. State St. where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment Redwood Memorial Estates.
