BRIGHAM CITY-<! > Carlla Jensen Secrist, 62, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully returned to our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, July 25, 2001, after a cour-ageous fight against mye-lofibrosis.

Carlla was born in Brigham City on September 7, 1938, to Hyrum Albert and Vera Inez Winegar Jensen. She married Ward Secrist on November 18, 1955. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. They are the parents of four daughters.

Above all, Carlla loved her family and was most happy when we were all together. Carlla was involved in numerous political, civic, and church activities. She served as Box Elder County Auditor for the past 12 years. She was an active member of the Utah Association of Counties, the National Association of Counties, and the Republican Party. She served several years as the Box Elder County Fair Treasurer. Carlla enjoyed volunteering her time and talents to many organizations. Carlla spent a lot of time making many beautiful quilts and afghans, and she loved cooking, baking, and traveling.

Surviving are her husband, Ward; daughters, Linda (Richard) Noble, Cedar Hills; Chris (Rod) Jeppesen, Corinne; Shelley Kotter, Brigham; and Tarnrny (Kevin) Johnson, Logan; 12 grandchildren; and great-grand-daughter. She is also survived by her sister Joyce (Eric) Hansen, California; brother Ronald (Donna) Jensen, Washington; sister-in-law, Shanna (Jack) Howell, Ogden; and many special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 31,2001, at 12 noon at the Brigham City 20th Ward, 650 E Anderson Drive. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family at a viewing on Monday, July 30, from 6-8 p.m. at the Myers Mortuary, 205 S. 100 E., Brigham City, or beginning at 10:30 a.m. prior to the funeral services at the Brigham City 20th Ward. Interment will be at the Brigham City Cemetery .

The family extends their deepest appreciation to the many people, known and unknown, who donated blood in her behalf.
