Frank Elliott Jones, 24, of Montezuma Creek will serve four years in federal prison for the stabbing death of another man on the Navajo Nation Reservation, a federal judge has ruled.

Jones was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Tena Campbell. He was indicted in December 1999 on first-degree murder charges after the death of Nelson Begay.

But in an agreement reached with federal prosecutors, Jones pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter.
