Kamas - Daniel George Wilde, 68, passed away peacefully at his home July 26, 2001 following a long struggle with emphysema.
He was born on July 25, 1933 in Kamas, Utah the son of George Leo and Mary Josephine (Lewis) Wilde. Dan was a graduate of South Summit High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On Oct. 5, 1957 he married LuDean McCormick in Kamas, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He worked for 27 years for the Utah Department of Transportation. He was a member of the LDS Church and had served as a scout leader, and a ward and stake clerk. He was a member of the American Legion, a Little League Volunteer, and good friend to many. He enjoyed fishing, camping, backpacking, working with wood, handyman projects, and crossword puzzles. But his greatest love was his family.
Survivors include his loving wife LuDean of Kamas, UT. Son: Dale (Cheryl) Wilde, American Fork, UT. Daughters: Wendy (Van) Hadlock, Vernal, UT; and Susan (Neil) Dawson, Lehi, UT. Brothers: Arnold (Ione) Wilde, El Cajon, CA; and Jim (Latrese) Wilde, Marion, UT. Sisters: Louise (Bob) Bickmore, Ogden, UT and Nina (Ron) Robinson, Chalk Creek, UT. Also 13 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Leo and Richard, and sisters, Effie Rockhill and Myrla Vernon Funeral service will be held on Monday, July 30, 2001, at 11 a.m. in the Kamas LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the church on Sunday evening from 6-8 p.m. and on Monday one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Marion Cemetery under the direction of the Crandall Funeral Home.
