Library technician training will be offered this fall by Salt Lake Community College. The classes are designed for people who either want an entry-level position in a library system or who already are working in such a position and want to improve their skills for advancement.
SLCC will offer three courses. This fall's course is the three-credit Introduction to Library Services. In subsequent semesters, SLCC will offer Public and Information Services for Libraries and Library Technical Services.
If enrollment and demand warrant, a two-year program could be proposed to the Utah Board of Regents.
The initial class will be 2 to 4:50 p.m. Thursdays, beginning Aug. 29, in Room 230 of the Markosian Library on Redwood Campus, 4600 S. Redwood Road.
Registration for fall semester is under way. For information call Kate McConaughy at 957-3188.
