Nina Clausing Mertin, 84 passed away July 28, 2001 in St. George, Utah.

Born March 14, 1917, Milton, Tooele Co., UT to George Henry and Ethel E. Dakin Clausing. She married Daniel Mertin July 28, 1937 which was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death April 13, 1998.

Nina was a homemaker, avid gardener, rock collector, and well known for her sewing abilities. Her bread and biscuits were legendary and people vied over the last one. Member of the LDS Church serving in the Primary. She bowled three times a week until the age of 81.

Survived by her children, Marjorie Stapley, Diane Lana, Terry Mertin (Judy), Nada Van Arnam (Steve), Kelly Mertin (Darlene); eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Smith; and one brother, Robert Clausing. Preceded in death by two brothers, Vern and Wayne Clausing.

Services will be Wed, 2 p.m. at Redwood Chapel, 6500 S. Redwood Rd, where friends and family my call Tues. 6-8 p.m. and at Redwood one hour prior to services. Interment, Redwood Memorial Estates. Directors, Deseret Mortuary.
